Eso sí, lo han hecho con mucha inteligencia, y han aprovechado la circunstancia para entrar en el segmento de los coches familiares. Así, el Serie 2 Active Tourer es el BMW más versátil del momento, un modelo que goza de mayor espacio interior que el X5 y que ya cuenta con su versión de 7 plazas, el Gran para enamorar no le faltan, y en BMW están encantados, pues hasta el 70% de las ventas que han realizado de este modelo son a nuevos clientes de la marca, personas que nunca antes se habían planteado la compra de un modelo con la hélice sobre el capó. Las primeras reticencias de un cliente habitual de la casa bávara desaparecerán nada más montarse y comprobar que la calidad interior raya a un nivel altísimo y que la dinámica de conducción, a pesar de la tracción delantera y la elevada posición de conducción, sigue manteniendo parte de la trazabilidad de la marca, y sus acompañantes viajarán con un elevadísimo confort y sin supuesto el familiar de BMW ha llegado equipado con la última tecnología y una gama mecánica amplia que destaca por usar sus motores más eficientes. Dinámico, versátil y cómodo, con sólo 4,3m de largo ofrece gran facilidad de conducción, amplio espacio interior y una gran capacidad de carga. El Serie 2 Active Tourer es un coche muy práctico y si sus grandes puertas facilitan el acceso al habitáculo con niños, una amplia boca de carga y numerosas soluciones de almacenamiento hacen que viajar con la casa a cuestas sea perfectamente viable apoyado en sus 468 litros de maletero, ampliables hasta los litros abatiendo los asientos. En Sixt lo han tenido claro y ya lo han incorporado a su flota Premium de el rival natural del BMW Active Tourer es el Mercedes Clase B, que le lleva una generación ventaja, la pregunta que nos hacíamos nosotros es, ¿puede esta nueva propuesta de BMW competir contra toda una institución de los familiares como es el Citroën C4 Picasso en su última y atrevida generación? Para comprobarlo hemos enfrentado al aleman con el motor 218d, el más equilibrado de la gama con sus 150CV del bloque de 2 litros, probablemente uno de los mejores del mercado, con el equivalente en el modelo francés, que en este caso es el tope de gama en cuanto a motorización y equipamiento, el e-HDi 150 exclusive. Tradición y renovación El Citroën C4 Picasso con esta configuración es un modelo cargado de equipamiento y tecnología en el que no falta de nada. Parabrisas panorámico, asientos con masaje, ayuda inteligente al aparcamiento, avisador de cambio de carril y de ángulo muerto, control de velocidad inteligente, alerta de colisión con vibración en el cinturón, sistema de infotaintment con doble pantalla y navegación… y todo ello por el mismo precio en el que arranca el BMW Serie 2 Active Tourer 218d, bien por encima de los Es cierto que en BMW han hecho un esfuerzo por que sus nuevos modelos lleguen bien equipados desde los modelos de base, pero ante semejante despliegue el alemán no puede competir. Eso sí, su calidad está en otra ambiente dentro del francés es mucho más moderno y futurista, pero la calidad percibida, sin desmerecer en absoluto, no llega a su nivel. Una vez en marcha las diferencias de comportamiento son palpables, y el rodar confortable del Citroën es tan peculiar que requiere de un pequeño periodo de adaptación. La mecánica está además mucho más llena en todo el régimen aunque compartan potencias, y este monovolumen puede circular por el carril izquierdo de cualquier carretera sin complejos. A nivel de eficiencia sin embargo el C4 es algo más frugal, y acercarse a su consumo medio de 4,9 litros es más probable, pero el bloque de BMW es oura suavidad y no se queda versatilidad el francés vuelve a sacar pecho y su maletero, que tiene 540 litros se muestra mucho más capaz. La fila trasera de asientos es deslizable, y eso les permite mucho juego entre carga y ocupantes, pero las 3 butacas individuales del Citroën, sin ser muy anchas, son un plus para llevar más ocupantes de manera más adecuada. El manejo de todos los mandos a bordo resulta sin embargo a veces poco intuitivo en el Picasso, que debería tomar nota de cómo funciona el Connected Drive de BMW, mucho más sencillo y naturalizado. Sus pantallas eso si ofrecen abundante información. En definitiva, estamos ante dos modelos que permiten tener un coche familiar a la última en diseño y tecnologías, con una versatilidad de uso enorme y con un posicionamiento bien marcado. Los más tradicionales apostarán por la fantástica relación calidad precio del Citroën C4 Picasso, su completo equipamiento y la garantía de un producto asentado que sabe cuáles son los puntos fuertes a la hora de viajar en compañía. Los clientes más reticentes a este tipo de coches monovolumen tienen ahora la opción de decantarse por todo un BMW que, sin perder por completo su ADN, ha sabido abrazar los requerimientos de un público más amplio con el Active Tourer. Servicing and Warranty BMW offers two different capped-price servicing plans on the 2 Series Gran Coupe. A five-year, 80,000km Basic plan is $1650, while the Plus plan costs $4340. The Plus plan includes replacement brake pads and discs, clutch discs and plates, as well as wiper blades.
